Privacy by design

Your contracts should stay under your control.

BeforeSign is designed around a simple principle: contract review should be useful without forcing you to hand over sensitive documents by default.

Local-first workflow

Basic review starts in the browser.

The basic review flow is designed to process the file locally in your browser whenever possible. That means the initial extraction and review experience does not require a forced document upload.

User control

You decide what happens next.

Any deeper review, export, account history, or cloud-based feature should be presented clearly and separately. The product should never hide what happens to a contract file.

Minimal data

Collect less. Explain more.

The product should avoid unnecessary tracking and avoid collecting contract content unless it is required for a user-selected feature. Any analytics should focus on basic product usage, not contract substance.

Transparent limitations

Helpful review, not legal advice.

BeforeSign helps surface important contract terms and practical review areas. It is not a law firm and does not replace advice from a qualified attorney or lawyer.

Current privacy posture

File upload

Not required for the basic browser review.

Document storage

No cloud document history in the MVP.

Analytics

Should remain minimal and non-content based.

Cloud review

Should be optional, explicit, and clearly labeled if added later.

User control

Users should be able to start over or clear local review data.
